Drawing for Mr Roberelli

Well, hello there.

Today I thought you might like to have a wee look at how all the artwork for our CD covers and website happens!

We have two talented girls in the Roberelli family. Sophie and Jessica.

They took up the challenge to create Mr Roberelli and his friends on paper and wow - what a result!

This is one of the first pictures that were drawn, of our five little ballerinas.

Sophie started way back when she was 9.  She is 14 now.

Here she is using her pencils at our table.

She is drawing a little ladybird.

'Doctor Doctor' is one of our favourite songs - and a cool cowboy was drawn for it.

Little Jessie did a lovely job with the painting of all the characters, she is now 10.

Here she is drawing some pictures of a flower.

Library is one of my favourite songs - and here is the picture - a little girl taking her books home from the library.  She is walking past some compost that has been drawn for the 'Creepy Crawly Crew' song.

The coolest moment was when the Mr Roberelli character was designed by the kids.  We love it!

So, a big thankyou to the two girls - Sophie and Jessica - for bringing Mr Roberelli and all his friends into colour!

An Island Fair...

We do love a good fair!

It's even better when we have a chance to play some music!

We tootled off to the Waikato Waldorf School Medieval Carnival last weekend...

The weather went from torrential downpour to windy to sunny....

Lots of good stuff was still happening...despite the weather!

Fishing.....

Food....

Bunting....

Sword making...

Wooden horse riding....

Craft stalls...

Sweet treats......

Super tea-pots!

We played in the school hall (near the sweet treats!!)..

The boys sorted the gear back (side) stage...

We put on our costumes (to try to fit into the medieval theme)!

This is the way the boys get warmed up before the concert!

And then on to the stage for the concert!

Have a listen to a lovely new song that Rob has written...

Beans about Beans

Now that we are having rainy days, summer seems like a world away!

We had a lovely garden over the summer.

Despite the drought we had some lovely vegetables growing happily away.

Paul is a good bean, and grows a mean bean!

He is beans about beans.

Shell enjoys a bit of bean fun too!

Here are some of our beans heading their way towards our dinner table!

Rob likes his beans so much that he wrote a song about them.  It won an award a couple of years ago!

Our super dooper nephews made this cool video using Rob's winner bean song.

The Waikato Show

Thanks to the Waikato Show for having us play in the weekend at the
Hamilton City Event Centre.

It was pretty eventful - the double bass lost a few bits during the first show!

No photos unfortunately.  Lucky for us, Keith MacMillan at the Stringed Instrument Shop in Frankton did a marvellous emergency fix on the beautiful instrument to get it ready for the Sunday concert!

Thanks Keith.

Here are the boys doing their usual practice before the show...

The typical amount of luggage had to be unpacked at the showgrounds....

Entering the backstage tent....

Setting up on stage.....

The concert tent...

Let the show begin.....

Some loyal (and related) fans.....

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ROARED LIKE LIONS!

Garden Concert

So we had rather a fun concert at the recent market day at the CCS Royal Oak Community Garden...

Here's Rob ready to leave for the concert.

On the way into the garden...
Such a lovely place...
It's looked after by lots of lovely volunteers...

The market was in full swing...
You could even play a bit of golf...
In the glass house!
Time to open the guitar cases, lay out some CDs....
Put on our gumboots...
and play a few tunes.

We had a wonderful day and the audience were grand!!
